Therapy Specializations
Aquatic Therapy
Aquatically trained therapists use the buoyancy of the pool to assist patients in injury rehabilitation, relaxation, fitness, physical rehabilitation and other therapeutic benefits. Aquatic therapy helps patients overcome their muscle, joint, nerve pain. Patients that find it too painful to engage in “on-land” therapy, thrive in aquatic therapy because it greatly reduces the pain. Aquatic rehabilitation allows for swelling control and utilization of hydrostatic pressure to increase sensory output, making it a safe alternative to land-based therapy.
Neurological Therapy
A neurologically-trained physical therapist specializes in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with movement problems related to disease or injury of the nervous system. Therapists who specialize in neurology work with a wide range of patients who may have been affected by stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, Parkinson's disease, and Multiple sclerosis
Vestibular and Balance Therapy
We are specially trained to detect and treat balance problems caused by neurologic and orthopedic problems as well as inner ear or vestibular disorders. Balance problems can be caused by lower extremity (legs, feet and ankles) deconditioning, weakness and peripheral neuropathies, including diabetic neuropathy.
Pelvic Floor Therapy
We take an extensive comprehensive approach to evaluating pelvic floor dysfunction including a full history, orthopedic, neurological, myofascial, soft tissue, trigger point and a full pelvic floor examination. This ensures the diligence and high quality of care in the pelvic floor physical therapy we provide to our patients.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture therapy might seem intimidating at first. After a general assessment, your therapist will insert long, thin needles into very specific areas of the body to stimulate nerves. Our therapists are trained in which areas are best for needle insertion, and many patients have little to no pain during the treatment.
Massage Therapy
Deep or soft tissue massage physical therapy relaxes tight muscle tissue and reduces nerve compression. If untreated, strained muscles can contract, compress and spasm. Therapists use proper pressure techniques to help muscles align and achieve balance between functionality and relief. During physical therapy, a deep tissue massage can have you feeling brand-new.
Parkinson’s Therapy
